First Line Service Engineer

Task Description:
Ensuring business continuity by being part of a 24/7 organization in order to guarantee service availability
• Assuring on-line monitoring of the network and service performance
• Treating Infrastructure outages : Capacity products (Leased Lines & Carrier Ethernet), Backbone products & BICS Network (Equipment and Transmission system’s)
• Making the initial evaluation of a problem and classify it into traffic affecting or non traffic affecting problems
• Analyzing the issue to localize the point of failure and resolving issue where possible. Assigning if to the appropriate department/provider and request regular feedback if needed.
• Ensuring regular feedback to customers on the status of the problem and actions taken, such that Service level agreements are met and business or market needs addressed
• Being the first interface with the BICS Customer’s
• Promoting qualitative service support to customers, ensuring where possible that contact details are updated
• Contributing in enhancing the knowledge base for frequently occurring problems within the team
Your Profile:
• You a have a bachelors degree in electronics, informatics or telecommunication, or relevant work experience in a telecommunications operations center environment
• You are customer oriented
• You are prepared to work early and late shifts, at night and during the weekends (24/7)
• You would like to gain some knowledge of frequently used telecommunications equipment
• You are flexible and open to new technologies.
• You are someone with good communication skills both written and spoken
• You are fluent in English and Dutch or French
