Et BOUM ! 1 an et demi après, les gens finissent par se rendre compte de ce que je n'ai jamais arreté de dire :
Olivier Dacourt: I Left Standard Liege Because Of Head Coach Laszlo Boloni
The French midfielder has taken the time to hit out at Standard Liege coach Boloni...
Belgian champions Standard Liege released an official statement on Monday reading that the club had parted company with French midfielder Olivier Dacourt, and the former Inter star has now explained his decision to leave Les Rouches.
"I decided to leave the club because head coach Laszlo Boloni was out to humiliate me. I was absolutely shocked with his behaviour, since he was the one who signed me," said Dacourt to Le Soir.
"In hindsight, I am really wondering why I ever joined Standard. I've worked with a number of great coaches such as Jose Mourinho and Fabio Capello. They always respected me, even if I was only warming the bench.
"Boloni is the worst coach I've ever worked with. He has no idea how to work with other people. The only reason why he guided Standard to the league title last season was because of the good work of previous coach Michel Preud'homme."
Dacourt joined Standard in September 2009, but made only nine league appearances during his stint with the club.
